Klein ISD students have earned an impressive 217 recognitions in the 2025-2026 Regional Scholastic Writing Awards. Out of 284 submissions, students received 50 Gold Keys, 63 Silver Keys, and 104 Honorable Mentions.
The Scholastic Writing Awards are among the most prestigious writing competitions in the nation, recognizing exceptional student voice, creativity, and technical skill. Klein ISD is no stranger to success in this arena, with students advancing to compete at the national level each year.
This year’s results reflect both strong participation and outstanding achievement across the district. Klein ISD’s secondary campuses participated in the program, and every campus that submitted entries had student winners.
“This level of participation and success reflects the strong writing instruction taking place across our district,” Klein ISD Instructional Officer for Core Academics-ELA Lisa Robinson said. “We are incredibly grateful to our teachers for their dedication to this program and their commitment to nurturing student voice, creativity, and excellence in writing.”
According to the Harris County Department of Education, schools submit their top student writing pieces to compete at the regional level. Entries are evaluated by panels of highly qualified professionals who select Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention recipients. Gold Key recipients advance to compete at the national level.
Congratulations to all of our student winners and to the teachers who helped make their achievement possible. Your #KleinFamily is incredibly proud of you!
