Alexander Mcgary

Klein Forest senior Alexander McGary is a standout example of student leadership, dedication, and perseverance. Whether in the classroom, in rehearsals, or on the field, Alexander continues to embody the spirit of excellence that defines Klein ISD.

As a student leader, Alexander is known for staying steady under pressure and helping others stay focused in demanding moments. He brings that mindset to everything he does, leading with discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

Alexander’s commitment extends to both band and baseball, where he has learned to balance multiple responsibilities at a high level, serving as Drum Line Captain and Center Snare.

“My role involves leading the drumline with clear communication, setting the tempo, maintaining discipline, and ensuring musical and visual precision during rehearsals and performances,” Alexander said.

That steady presence is one of the many qualities his band director says makes Alexander stand out.

“Alex’s resilience and talent have been the characteristics that have stood out the most to me,” Klein Forest Band Director Jesse Espinosa said. “Where some students can easily give in to their hardships or troubles surrounding them, he has always found a way to push through.”

Alexander’s journey has been shaped by resilience and growth. One challenge he remembers from his freshman year was learning to read a coordinate sheet, which he overcame through extra effort and his mom's support. Since then, he has grown tremendously as both a musician and a person, expanding his skill set to multiple instruments while becoming more mature and aware of how his actions affect others.

That same discipline shows in the classroom. Alexander works hard to stay on top of his schoolwork by using his time wisely during the day so that his evenings are more manageable after practices and rehearsals. His ability to balance a full schedule while maintaining a high level of excellence reflects the spirit of Klein ISD’s Triple A distinction.

When asked who had supported him the most, Alexander did not hesitate.

“The person who has supported me the most is my mom,” Alexander said. “She has always given me motivation in times of worry, and I love her for that.”

His hard work has translated into impressive accomplishments. Alexander has been a consistent winner at the Klein ISD and UIL Solo & Ensemble contests and has qualified for the State UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest the past two years after earning Superior ratings at regionals. In 2024, he earned a silver medal for his solo performance, and in 2025, he earned gold medals for both his solo and percussion ensemble performances.

Alexander's impact reaches beyond music. Alexander also balances school activities such as baseball, top concert band, and percussion ensemble, managing a demanding schedule with organization and discipline.

“He does this all while maintaining a high level of excellence in his academic courses. It is amazing to see how he keeps up with everything and always puts his best foot forward no matter what,” Klein Forest Band Director Jesse Espinosa said. “This path he is on will pay huge dividends for him at the next level.”

After graduation, Alexander plans to attend Prairie View A&M University and pursue a career in cybersecurity, bringing with him the teamwork, communication, and leadership skills he has developed through band and baseball.

We are proud of Alexander for the example he sets at Klein Forest and across Klein ISD, and we cannot wait to see all he accomplishes in the future.
