Texas Education Code Section 26.001(d)(4)—Parents and legal guardians of students enrolled in Klein ISD have the right to withhold consent for or exempt your child from certain activities and instruction, including the child's course of study and supplemental services; instructional materials and library materials; health education instruction under Texas Education Code 28.004; instruction regarding sexual orientation and gender identity under Texas Education Code 28.0043; school options, including virtual and remote schooling options; immunizations under Texas Education Code 38.001; gifted and talented programs; promotion, retention, and graduation policies; grade, class rank, and attendance information; state standards and requirements; data collection practices; health care services, including notice and consent under Texas Education Code 26.0083(g); the grievance procedure under Texas Education Code 26.011; and special education and bilingual education and special language programs. Texas Education Code Section 26.006(g)—Parents and legal guardians of students enrolled in Klein ISD have the right to review all teaching materials, instructional materials, and other teaching aids used in their child’s classroom. If you would like to review the materials, you may request access by contacting your child’s campus administration. Instructional materials will be made available for your review in a timely manner, consistent with district policy and applicable law.
