KLEIN – French Elementary has been awarded a $12,000 grant from the Klein ISD Education Foundation (KEF) for Greater Houston’s first platinum-level ADA playground, going above and beyond our districtwide ADA playgrounds to create an even more exciting space where students of all abilities can play and learn side by side.
In a surprise visit from the KEF Celebration Express, French Elementary was honored with the grant alongside Foundation directors, community members, and Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown.
Led by grant writer and Principal Lisa Campbell and sponsored by Pogue Construction, the playground will feature accessible ramps, sensory play elements, wheelchair-friendly surfaces, and collaborative structures that encourage active play, social interaction, and physical development.
