music education

KLEIN–Klein ISD has been named a 2026 Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation, marking the 15th consecutive year and the 19th time overall that the district has earned the distinction.

The national designation recognizes school districts that make music education a real priority. To qualify, districts submit an application covering their music programs, funding, and student enrollment. Klein has done this 19 times—15 of them back-to-back.

“This prestigious honor is evidence once again that in Klein ISD, we uphold and value our longstanding tradition of excellence in the arts,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I am so proud of our remarkable educators and talented student-musicians for earning this national recognition!”

To qualify for this designation, districts must complete an application that examines various data about music education within the district, including programs, funding, and enrollment.

“Being named a Best Community for Music Education for the 15th year reflects our district’s shared commitment to the arts and the profound impact music has on every student in Klein ISD,” Klein ISD Fine Arts Director Frank Chuter said.
