What’s really behind a school lunch? Klein ISD families are invited to find out at Meet the Menu, a free community event hosted by Klein ISD Nutrition & Food Services that gives families an inside look at the food, programs, and people behind student meals.

The event will take place Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the Klein Multipurpose Center, 7500 FM 2920. Admission is free, and families are encouraged to bring their children and explore together.

In addition to food samples, activities, and opportunities to connect with the Nutrition & Food Services team, attendees will also have the chance to win exciting raffle prizes, including iPads and gift cards throughout the event.

Throughout the evening, families will have an opportunity to TASTE, LEARN, and SHARE as they experience school nutrition from a new perspective.

TASTE What’s Cooking

Students and families can sample a variety of menu items, including student favorites and new offerings available in Klein ISD cafeterias.

The tasting experience gives parents a chance to try some of the same foods their children see at school, while students can discover new favorites they may want to choose at lunch.

LEARN More About School Meals

Meet the Menu goes beyond the food itself.

Families can learn more about Klein ISD’s nutrition education efforts, how healthy and balanced school meals are developed, and resources available for students with special dietary needs and menu accommodations.

Members of the Nutrition & Food Services team will be available throughout the event to answer questions and help families better understand the planning and care that goes into fueling students each school day.

Family and student feedback plays an important role in shaping the cafeteria experience.

Meet the Menu gives attendees an opportunity to ask questions, connect directly with members of the Nutrition & Food Services team, and share feedback about current and future menu items.
