Eiland Elementary is celebrating after being recognized as a Bright Spots Top School, a tremendous award that honors schools across the country that go above and beyond in literacy education relative to local poverty rates.
“My immediate reaction was definitely shock and excitement! It was such an unexpected and meaningful recognition,” Eiland Elementary Principal Alba Monge said. “I know how hard our teachers and staff have worked to build a strong foundation in literacy for our students. So, while the recognition was a surprise, it was also incredibly validating; it affirmed that the hard work, collaboration, and commitment of our teachers and students are making a difference.”
