Across Klein ISD, talented student-musicians and dedicated Fine Arts directors are celebrating a remarkable collection of national honors recognizing the outstanding musicianship, creativity, preparation, and dedication demonstrated by Klein ISD ensembles.
Several Klein ISD intermediate and high school ensembles recently earned recognition through the Foundation for Music Education’s Mark of Excellence program, a national initiative that celebrates outstanding school music ensembles from across the United States.
“These national recognitions fill us with tremendous pride and gratitude for our students, directors, and families who make Fine Arts such an important part of the Klein ISD experience,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “The achievements of these ensembles reflect countless hours of dedication, practice, creativity, and teamwork. We are proud to see our students’ talents celebrated on a national stage, and we are deeply grateful for the educators who inspire excellence, nurture confidence, and help every student discover the power of music.”
Through the program, ensembles submit performance recordings for evaluation by designated adjudicators. For the National Jazz Honors, the top 25% of participating ensembles are recognized as National Winners, while the next 25% receive Commended Winner recognition.
Klein ISD ensembles also earned honors through the Citation of Excellence, which recognizes outstanding performance achievement among non-varsity high school and intermediate school bands and orchestras.
